Its amazing to me how many people will throw away their friendships at the drop of a hat. That the time they took developing the relationship doesn't matter.
Friendship to me is a soul bond. Stronger then the casual acquaintances we pass by every day, with a loyalty that Is formed from the molten steel of experiences shared and common ground that has been established.
Loyalty: the dedicated service of another willing to do anything to help and not harm, another, individual with out the need of personal gains or ambitions.
It shows who your true friends are when a moment of crisis shows up. The people who show up are the ones who are ready to do what they can to help you. But that being said if they do this for you. Make sure you do this in return for them. There isn't much to gain by having a one way friendship.
I've noticed the ones who drop you the fastest, seem to be focused on the "whats in it for me" Scenario
What else is interesting is how many will say oh were just friends. when in reality they've been demoted to the acquaintance level of convenience. (this doesn't happen all the time but you can usually tell by how they interact with people.
So if you ask me to be your friend understand that its more then a word, Its a solid Commitment of Loyalty and Respect and willing to do the right thing and to help you in anyway possible. As a True friend I will tell you the truth, and not sugarcoat things, this may be painful at times, but understand we are still friends. It takes allot to break a friendship with me.

A solid friendship like this you speck of takes time with me.... i have a few, a very few bonds like this. and it took years to get to that point of, without hisatation, without question i am there ever you need me level of that kind of friendship. and a bond of highest level too. but yes, i have thou, sadly, seen some call each oter 'friends' and dang, when bs comes around them, they are like... who are you? type of bs.... shakes head... its sad.
